Tourism, Social/Cultural Capital, and Disaster Recovery
.
We hypothesize that the tourism industry has significant social, cultural, and economic capital that can play a vital role in wider community disaster recovery.
The goal of our research is to analyze intersections between disaster recovery, cultural and social capital, and tourism, in order to improve disaster recovery and vulnerability reduction programming in developing countries.

We believe the tourism industry can be a key actor in disaster recovery, not just a sector vulnerable to disasters.
